Our Inspiration
Holy Mother Ganga
We present to you, with deep reverence, a contemporary rendition of the divine Goddess Ganga, located in the Reception of VILEEN. She is the celestial incarnation of the bountiful and sacred river Ganga, on the banks of which we are nestled.
Maa Ganga is audacious, she is timid.
Maa Ganga is rambunctious, she is restrained.
Maa Ganga is brute force, she is sinuous.
Maa Ganga sustains, she starves.

An Ode to the Architecture of Uttarakhand
Throughout the façade and interiors of Vileen, we have paid tribute to Uttarakhand’s rich heritage of artistry by integrating traditional architectural elements… whether it’s our sloping roofs, wooden railings, stone wall carvings, elaborate guestroom doors or our feature wall in the reception area.
Reception Wall: This ornate backdrop is inspired by classical doors found throughout the villages of Uttarakhand, most prominently in the Kumaon region. It features an intricate wooden carving art called Likhai, the Kumaoni word for 'wood carving'. An intrinsic part of the hill architecture of Kumaon, the art of Likhai is a disappearing craft, and this spectacular wall is our homage to it.
Balcony railings: Incorporating traditional railings in the balconies, arches and columns into a modern building creates a sense of continuity and connection to the past, while also providing a unique and dynamic design. Another important element is the stone façade with traditional motifs.
Door Development: Intricately carved old panelled door in uttarakhand forms the basis for the guest room door.
In room thematics: Our guest suites are themed around Uttarakhand's sacred flora, merging cultural heritage with modern design.
